Looking for the best Cuban sandwich? Well, this latest poll has done the work for you. USA Today’s ’10Best’ and Sandwich America asked readers for their favorite sandwiches throughout Florida. And the local restaurant that made in the top 10?
Havana Restaurant in West Palm Beach was voted #6 on USA Today’s list. A group of experts (based on their knowledge of the Florida Cuban food scene) picked the initial twenty nominees and the top 10 were determined by popular vote.

Jupiter Food & Wine Festival
Sample dishes and drinks at the seventh annual Jupiter Food & Wine Festival. The Friends of Jupiter Beach event will feature food and drink from over 40 of Palm Beach County’s finest restaurants, cafés, brewing companies and beverage providers. Mo & Sally from KOOL 105.5 are honorary chairs.
The event runs from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday. 6285 Riverwalk Lane, Jupiter. Tickets start $60 for adults, $15 children.
Delray Beach Craft Beer Fest
The fifth annual Delray Beach Craft Beer Fest takes place tonight (5/13) from 6:30 to 10:30 at the Old School Square Pavilion. Tickets — $60 VIP, $40 general admission — are good for unlimited sampling of more than 100 craft brews and ciders as well as wines. 51 N. Swinton Ave., Delray Beach.
Bob Barker, retired host of “The Price is Right” and known animal rights activist was seen relaxing in the lounge at Palm Beach’s Meat Market Thursday night. The well-known vegetarian did not dine at the popular restaurant. Barker was seen having drinks with Lenny Lauren, the brother of fashion mogul Ralph Lauren.
A publicist for the restaurant provided the information to The Palm Beach Post.
Scottish actor Alan Cumming, who received a 2011 Emmy Award nomination for his work on “The Good Wife” and who has starred in numerous films including “X-Men” and “Cabaret” dined at West Palm Beach’s vegetarian bistro Darbster this past weekend, according to his Instagram post.
Food trucks can be found all over Palm Beach County, but USA Today says one may be better than the rest.
In a list of the “15 food trucks spinning comfort classics” over at USA Today, Palm Beach’s own Curbside Gourmet was one of the featured eateries. Other ones around the nation are Ms. Cheezious in Miami, Empanadas Aqui in Cincinnati, Taco Mondo in Philadelphia, The Burger Bus in Santa Barbara, Calif., and Rolling J’s in Chattanooga, Tenn.
The site didn’t say too much about the Palm Beach food truck other than that it “bridges the gap between fine dining and fast food” with the crab cake slider with lemon tarragon aioli as one of the featured meals.
Throughout the month of January, the best way to celebrate National Meat Month is to enjoy a Morton’s Prime Burger or 9 oz. Prime Ribeye Steak Sandwich, paired with a glass of Raymond Vineyards “Primal Cut” Cabernet Sauvignon, for only $25.
