Palm Beach hotel among best in the world for Christmas

Get in the Christmas spirit by heading to one of the world’s best spots for going “all-out” on holiday cheer — and it is close to home.

CNN compiled a list of the “9 hotels that go all-out for Christmas” with Palm Beach’s own, The Breakers, being listed among them.

According to the site, The Breakers “carries its lavish traditions right through the holiday season” with more than 160,000 lights all across the resort. The Breakers also contains a Christmas Day brunch, which is served in The Circle, for $140 for adults and $50 for children. The Christmas dinner takes place in the Ponce de Leon ballroom and is a buffet for $140 for adults and $60 for children 11 and under.

The other top hotels that made CNN’s list for Christmas included: Hotel Sacher in Vienna, Austria; Fairmont Scottsdale Princess in Scottsdale, Ariz.; The Ritz in London; Willard InterContinental in Washington, D.C.; the Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris; The Plaza in New York City; the Waldorf Astoria in New York City; and The Roosevelt in New Orleans.

Frank Sinatra 100th birthday: celebrate with free meatballs!

Nothing like listening to “The Way You Look Tonight” while chowing down on meatballs to celebrate the centennial birthday of Frank Sinatra.

Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza is offering free meatballs on Dec. 12 to any guest who wears Sinatra’s signature Fedora in honor of the singer’s 100th birthday. All 51 locations of Anthony’s will offer the meatball special. Check Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza website for your nearest location.

On top of the free meatballs, Anthony’s will be paying tribute to the singer by playing Sinatra songs in the restaurant all day and will being offering an entry to win an iPod pre-loaded with 100 Sinatra tunes.

Rocco’s Tacos celebrating eight years with Clematis block party

Grab a taco and a margarita, it is time to celebrate eight years of Rocco’s Tacos.

The Clematis staple is set to celebrate its eighth anniversary on Saturday, Dec. 19 with a party along the 200 block of Clematis Street. The restaurant, which recently opened new locations in Brooklyn and Delray Beach, will have the party will start at 5 p.m. and go until 2 a.m. with live music and drink specials.

“We want to thank West Palm for eight amazing years. We couldn’t have picked a better place to start our successful chain of restaurants,” owner Rocco Mangel said.

Rocco’s Tacos features a signature menu that includes: Jalapeno Rellenos, stuffed fried jalapenos poppers, with cotija, lime crema, avocado ranch; Molcajete Seafood, wild Gulf of Mexico shrimp, scallops, mahi & poblano chiles baked in a molcajete with calabaza squash, charred tomatoes, onions, cilantro; Enchiladas Mole Poblando, pulled chicken breast, mole poblano sauce; and Bistec con Chiles Rajas, grilled adobo skirt steak, grilled green onions, three pepper rajas, red rice, black beans.
